STORIES · FROM THE FIELD
Fixes we're still proud of.
Three real jobs from the last year, told the way we'd tell them to a colleague. Client names shortened for privacy. The details are exactly as they happened.
Break-Fix · Plus Plan · 2025
A deadline saved at 11:40 pm.
A freelance designer messaged us late the night before a client presentation — her MacBook had frozen mid-export in Illustrator and wouldn't restart cleanly. We connected remotely, found two problems stacked on top of each other: a corrupted font cache and a startup disk at 99% capacity. Cleared the cache, moved 60 GB of old exports to an external drive, restarted, and the file exported. Total time from her first message: 38 minutes. She made the presentation; the client never knew anything was wrong.
Security · Business Plan · 2025
A house full of PCs, sixteen months clean.
A household with four PCs shared between parents and two teenagers. None had run a Windows update in over a year, three different antivirus trials were fighting each other, and one machine was already opening pop-up tabs. We spent two evenings on it: full patching, removed the junkware, replaced the antivirus mess with one sensible setup, gave the kids standard accounts instead of admin, and forced automatic updates afterwards. Our monitoring agent now flags anything odd. Sixteen months later, not one infection — and routine upkeep takes us about fifteen minutes a month.
Backup · Plus Plan · 2026
Six years of photos, one restore.
A family's entire photo archive — six years of it — lived on a single external drive. We had set up a nightly cloud backup two months earlier, on a plan they nearly canceled because "nothing ever happens." Then the drive started clicking. We ran the restore the same evening; every photo came back, verified file by file. The failed drive was replaced within the week. It is still the example we use when clients ask whether backups are worth it.
· YOUR TURN
Boring tech is the goal.
The best outcome of a support plan is that nothing worth a story ever happens to you. That's what we sell.
